Volunteer Opportunities

We can not do what we do without the support of parents and guardians like you!  We have many opportunities that we need volunteers for in order for our program to be successful.  Please consider jobs that interest you.  Thank you in advance for your support of the NWSA Choral Arts Department!

Volunteer Job Descriptions

Rehearsal Supervisor:

  • What: This position asks you to supervise the ensembles while they are in the auditorium seats.  You will need to ensure that the students remain quiet and respectful while the other groups are rehearsing.
  • Time Requirement: Approximately 1 hour per concert

Dinner Supervisor:

  • What: This position asks you to help distribute food and watch the students while the directors eat and change.
  • Time Requirement: Approximately 1 hour per concert

Concert Supervisor:

  • What: This volunteer position asks you to supervise the ensembles while they are in the audience.  You will need to ensure that they remain quiet and respectful during other performances.
  • Time Requirement: Approximately 2 hours per concert

Videographer:

  • What: This position asks you to video record the concert.
  • Time Requirement: Approximately 2 hours per concert

MPA Chaperone:

  • What: This position asks you to supervise students on the bus trip to the MPA site, while we are at the MPA site, and on the bus trip back to school.
  • Time Requirement: Approximately 6 hours once a year

High School Field Trip Chaperone:

  • What: This position asks you to chaperone the high school field trip.
  • Time Requirement: Approximately 4 days once a year (usually around Spring Break)

Fundraising Committee Chair:

  • What: This position is in charge of all fundraising activities of the middle school and high school chorus department.  This will also include delegating responsibilities to volunteers.
  • Time Requirement: Approximately 5 fundraising activities throughout the school year

Secretary:

  • What: This Executive Board position asks you to record minutes from the Booster Club meetings and communicate with and send out reminders to the Booster Club.
  • Time Requirement: Meetings once a month and email communications

Uniforms:

  • What: This position asks you to measure the students for their uniforms and to collect the uniforms at the end of the school year.
  • Time Requirement: 1 or 2 days at the beginning of the Fall Quarter and 1 or 2 days at the end of the 4th Quarter

Booster Club Membership:

  • What: This position asks you to ensure all members receive their t-shirts, DVDs, etc.  This position will also include boosting the membership of the Booster Club.
